  • Abstract:  Black-collared barbet (Lybius torquatus) is a widespread species of moist woodlands, forest margins and gardens from southern to East Africa (Short and Horne, 1988; 2001). Together with black-billed barbet Lybius guifsobalito and red-faced barbet L. rubrifacies, it forms part of a small assemblage of Lybius barbets having red faces and throats, black napes and yellow-edged remiges.
