Using dam water for irrigation and aquaculture purposes serves as an advantage for farmers to have alternative production from the available resources. Poor rooting of cuttings has limited the development of superior clones. Under standard mist bed conditions terminal, sub-terminal or basal stem cuttings taken from March to August when not treated with an auxin yielded rooting percentages of between 20 and 25. Rooting percentages increased to between 40 and 45 after treatment with 500-1000 ppm indolebutyric acid (IBA). Substituting IBA with naphthaleneacetic acid (NAA) did not improve rooting.
