The aim of the competition was to bring together fire-fighters from various military air force bases throughout South Africa to compete, thereby determining the 'toughest aviation fire-fighter' and the 'best aviation fire team'. For the first time in the competition's history, a high angle challenge was also included and I had the privilege of being invited to act as chief judge.
